Nuts kernels are nuts with their shell removed and coated with a thin, fiber-rich, edible skin. Botanics consider only hazelnuts and chestnuts to be real nuts. Peanuts are actually legumes, Brazil and macadamia nuts are capsule fruits and most of other nuts (for example, almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans) strictly speaking refur to the family of nuts and are considered to be seeds (as for example, pine, pumpkin and sunflower seeds).
